Linux Foundation Launches the Open Source Compliance Program

Today the Linux Foundation announced a set of training modules, tools and programs designed to assist companies with compliance with open source licenses.

Backed by enterprises like IBM, HP, Samsung, Sony, and Google, the initiative offers code-scanning tools, assessment checklists, educational materials, and a standardized methodology and reporting regime.  Programs like this, and similar offerings from other sources (here, here and here) should go a long way towards dispelling the confusion and, all too often, FUD, sometimes associated with open source software.
